Rabies: given at the age your state law sets. Ask your vet whether Bordetella, Lyme or canine flu suit your puppy. This is one example that fits the guideline spacing (doses 2 to 4 weeks apart). Your vet sets the real dates, especially if a dose has already been given.

What the guidelines say

The AAHA 2022 Canine Vaccination Guidelines list distemper, adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, leptospirosis and rabies as core vaccines for dogs.

  • Combination vaccine (distemper, adenovirus-2, parvovirus): at least three doses between 6 and 16 weeks of age, 2 to 4 weeks apart.
  • Leptospirosis: two doses 2 to 4 weeks apart, starting at 12 weeks or older.
  • Rabies: as your state requires.

The example uses visits at 8, 12, 15 and 16 weeks, which fits that spacing. If your puppy came from a shelter or breeder, bring the records: some doses may already be done.
